Did you put a kit in the carb?
My dad's 026 did the same thing even after a new kit in the carb, swapped it for a cheap Zama and problem gone.
hows the choke lever and 1 turn out should be close
Give it a little more pop off pressure.
Glad it worked for you Wayne. Nothing like a happy customer!I put the carb kit it today popped of and ran first pull and sounds great. Dude just picked it said it ran and sounded better than the day he bought it. Then asked about the decomp saying it has always been stiff. I toldhim thats a plug theres no decomp. He was like those mofos said it had one.
Thanks again everyone really appreciate!

Never was a fan but of course it was somebody's saw that is sentimental because the owner has passed."McCinderblock"
I got one of those for free, and only way to get rid of it is to give it to someone else lol.Mcculloch they do have some grunt carb kit and line's it looks great for a Mcculloch.View attachment 56540

I will just keep it around and make it a loaner saw.Christmas gift.
Those 605-610-655 Macs aren't very well thought of here but if you just want something to cut up a log they're just fine...not much of a in-tree saw though..I will just keep it around and make it a loaner saw.
They do cut good just unbalanced feeling cinderblocky. Those 605-610-655 Macs aren't very well thought of here but if you just want something to cut up a log they're just fine...not much of a in-tree saw though..
They seem to have oil pump problems, that and are as heavy as a 6 cube saw. They do cut good just unbalanced feeling cinderblocky.
My old neighbor terry was cutting with one it got hung up and shot back at him got him in both nuggets he bought a 310 stihl that day.
Those homelite's are better than the eager beaver imo.Same with this 330 homelite runs like a new one but it's got that stupid oil pump on top of the saw i got all three of these freebies running.View attachment 56577
