Cleaned up the Mahle cylinder, was some bad casting spots in the transfers, could not stand to leave them. Smoothed intake and polished exhaust. Has a couple broken fins, so was a good candidate for myself. Had a Hyway piston here so figured I would try it out. Clutch cover and handle are from HL Supply as well.

Did some parts cleaning on the 034, good thing I'm not logging my time on this, and it is for me! There is a good size hole in the filter cover that was patched and hidden under all the dirt. Then the recoil looked a bit sloppy, so I took it apart, and about when the slinky thing looked like a pile of spaghetti, I said to myself what the heck did you do?

I just have to keep telling myself it is OK, it is a learning experience!

Oh, and SS, the reason I liked your "German" thread so much is cause I don't have a parts cleaner, and every time I start picking dirt out of all the nooks and crannies on one of these things, well, let's just say I agree with you!

I have a parts cleaner but seldom use it. I have a square plastic tub about 18" X 14" that I fill with Industrial Simple Green and soak parts in it overnight then hose them off the next day and dry them off. That cleans them up fairly well but sometimes if they're really cruddy I scrape the muck off them a little first..

Next to my bench at the shop, Oregon
Makes me wonder how many saws just get thrown in the trash due to lack of fuel system maintenance.
People expect to leave them sitting for 6 months and that they'll fire up and run like tops. Then they blame us or the manufacturer instead of realizing that it's the oil companies. lol I do some much fuel system repair I'm starting to know the part numbers by heart. haha

IMG_4184.JPG IMG_4186.JPG IMG_4188.JPG Finally had the time to assemble the 036Pro I bought last summer along with the 036 metal badge red lever. This one got since, oem piston and cylinder from a crushed saw, muffler mod with big 1/8" screen, and a timing advance. Also got a new carb and squish at .020. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see if it starts today.

New year, maybe I will reach to finish those projects who is 90% done.
Have had this 372 xpg for 2 years now, it's just as complete as it was when I got it, low hour saw.

Changed coil from blue to black, and trimmed those limiters today.

Maybe it's time for me to swipe my credit card and get that chain brake handle and clutch cover!
