Those saws were made to be disposable....go ahead and pitch it in the trash. What do you even say to someone that brings in a saw looking like this? The brake was engaged, the clutch cover & bar were hanging loose (cover would not come off with the brake on) and the chain had been thrown so many times it would no longer fit in the groove of the bar.

BTW, that's not paint splattered all over the saw...

Hey Dan, that's pretty sweet looking! What model is that wrap off of? I love me a full wrap, and a 350/3 series saw is the cats meow.....I did this a little bit ago, but I discovered the perfect cylinder a/v spring for the 3/4 wrap on my 350. The cylinder a/v spring off a 390xp is pretty much the perfect length, it's a skooge long on mine, but if I tweak the handle like I want or trim down the plastic flare a wee bit it'll be just right. The 350 one I put a spacer under was too short and the wrap rubbed on the top cover, this guy gives it ~1/4" or so of clearance.

I knew a guy who bought 2 2100's together, one to run and one to rob parts off of. Fortunately the one never needed parts taken off of it, so it was pretty much n.o.s. I don't know if it was a coincidence, but the spare had a chain brake and the runner did not.An oh-90 having its wind vane governor repaired. Got new parts from Australia. Friendly folks there. The folks elsewhere not so much anymore. View attachment 424948
This is a “Late” version of the Gen 1 AV saw. This one has a presence lever.
The original receipt I have for this saw shows it was one of a pair sold to the same fellow in 1990. Wonder what he was planning to do with two?
That's very cool Jim! I've got a tidy Gen 2 090AV which I always thought was from the 1980's, but maybe I'm wrong? An oh-90 having its wind vane governor repaired. Got new parts from Australia. Friendly folks there. The folks elsewhere not so much anymore. View attachment 424948

Ya know, your saw could have come from the 1980’s. I dug up the paperwork for the saw. The pair were sold 10/26/83 with a “model 50” for $2200. He purchased a 30” bar and chain and 5gals of end sealer. That's very cool Jim! I've got a tidy Gen 2 090AV which I always thought was from the 1980's, but maybe I'm wrong?
