Ya know how if you don’t wind your winch cable tight and then pull hard on an outer wrap, it will sink down between the lower layers and get pinched? Same thing, but it wedges the plaztec pooleys apart

Ok so I rebuilt the carb on my neigbors 038s pressure tested it. installed it on the saw started it warmed it up and made the necessary adjustments. i seemed to be running fine. he brought it back stating that it sort of bogs down mid cut. he says that he doesnt really run it wide open. i told him it was meant to be ran full throttle. anyway i checked for air leaks with brake clean. changed the plug and took it to the wood pile and i ran it it runs fine pretty strong for a 34 year old say that is well used. i had the carb set with a tach at 12.5 not knowing for sure what it should be because i didnt look. here is the confusion now....the owners manual for it says 13.5 with bar and chain the service manual says 12 with bar and chain. so which is it? it was holding 9200 in the cut with bar buried in fir. when i got the saw i filled it with gas. but im not sure if his issue happens when full or after a while of running. i couldnt duplicate the problem

i know...i schooled him. then he said when he is in full wood he does. so i asked if when it was wide open and cutting well did it still do it? he said yes.

Finally got the little snow-blower's muffler repair completed.
Started with finding a fractured baffle plate inside.
I was able to open up the rolled edge to get the process started.
We found some plate spring steel in a scrap bin.

A bit of forming and such to make fit.

The 5 holes in the baffle plate were increased from 0.250" to at least 0.375" to maybe make things a bit better.
Cover fits with enuf material to re-crimp the edges
All rolled up and ready for testing.

Reassembled and test ran. Sounds pretty good.
Tune seems about spot on at 72f, with just a little 4-stroking with no load.
I'm sure I'll need to add some more fuel to the tune for the cold. But that's another day.

Even after I installed the gen 2 filter setup and greased the seam my 562 still had fines getting by, so today I finally put a Stoekel stack on it. I couldn't justify $50 or so for one of his shorty filters so I just trimmed down a regular Uni filter I had floating around.

how big of a log do you expect to move with it?

are you thinking a log arch with enough frame to support removable floor/sides ? or more of a trailer that you have a way to winch/grapple a log onto?

Moving single/individual logs would be a rare oddity, warranted by the curiosity of trying CSM milling.
The logs would obviously be 24+" OD but not much longer than 3 meters.
I thought of using my tractors hydraulic forks to lift one end of a log on the trailer/axle and lay the other end onto said tractor forks.
Chain both ends down good and go home slow.

A makeshift branch & wood "half" tractor trailer (~1.5 meters long) would be the main intent, with added capability of carrying a IBC tank for hauling water for my ducks.

No intention to haul loose cargo/gravel/corn!

$15 42cc I've had for years.
Recently I had a obvious air leak & thought it was a crank seal (idle rpm increased dramatically).
After a quick vac test, turns out it was a fuel line.
Great little saw, it's never failed to start & I've ran it in extreme conditions (-9°).

Fixing the old walk behind mower collecting basket.
They used terrible plastic for that bottom piece, it is all dried out & brittle.
Sewing a piece of carpet in, then gonna remove some of the more damaged plastic as it would drag on the ground.

If you clean it up well and put tape inside & out it may last a full season.

I hot glued (hot nylon) it once, held up OK for 2 seasons, 3rd season it all let go.
I have been improvising with an "inlay" all of last year.
Though with this years grass growth and already 5 mows done I yesterday decided this needs a more permanent and durable fix.

Sewed in carpet inlay, trimmed/removed severely damaged sections of the original basket flooring, zip tied on rubber bands to serve as skid plates so the exposed carpet section hopefully doesn't deteriorate too fast.
Gonna try it out one day next week.
