Kid up road texted me that his 562 died in the cut and now won’t start.
It wouldn’t start for me either.
Checking spark I found the plug very loose and since it was finger tight I pulled it the rest of the way.
Hope the rest of it shot right into the muffler.
Compression does seem a little low though.

070 or 090?

That's how Stihl made the cases they will take 070 or 090 cylinders must just be for ease of manufacturing between the models.
The 090 G has an 070 cylinder on it from factory but same thing a 090 cylinder will bolt straight on.

Made in Japan, NGK? o_O

I exclusively use those, swap out any other plugs that I find in saws I purchase. :confused:

Haven't messed with saw stuff much lately, but I had a Makita 4301 and a Dolmar PS-351 on my bench.
Both were in pieces and and both missing parts. The teal saw ended up as a donor for now, and the Dolmar ended up as a PS-351 simply because I didn’t have one in my little collection yet. Plenty of PS-421’s here, so figured why not.
It can use a new clutch cover and a new recoil cover, as they’re both cracked, but they’ll work for now.
The teal saw will get built up one day too, but I need a few parts before I can do that.
Removed the cat out of the muffler while I was at it. Two holes drilled at the spot welds makes it pop right out.

This old beast. 1963-64 Homelite Super Wiz. Traded my 051 for it yesterday. Has great compression and ignition. Waiting on friction washers and pawls for the recoil as well as a carb kit and fuel outlet gasket. Popped on brake cleaner. Fuel system overhaul and cleaning next along with repairing the recoil and replacing the rope.

She's a 77cc gear drive beast sporting a 24" hard-nose bar pulling 1/2" pitch chain

I guess if there’s a good thing here, it looks like a big part of the ground strap is still on top of the piston

Not condoning welding targets. My own risk for my own range. The weld is going to be much harder than the rest of the plate. In a effort to soften it some I will hit it with the torch a few times to help relieve it some.
