Pretty nice table to be covered in gas by morning. Lol

I showed it who's boss. Plus that carb advice was spot on I think.

Plus I switched from trufuel to gas and red armor.

It's hasn't leaked a drop.

And thanks, I worked hard on that bench. Tomorrow it will have my floor jack pulled apart on it.

Free lawn mower, there was only a magnet and a muffler on the engine, the rest I added from another engine. Works great and I found the name of the mower only on the knife / Ibea 420 Knife is like new see on the wheels the mower is 30 years old for sure

The other night I finished up my 1995 Lawn Boy Silver Series push mower as well as a service on a Hyper Tough push mower.

My neighbors friends fathers Stihl 051.
Supposedly she has not been used 20ish years and as such needs a checkup and cleaning.
Not looking forward to that!

Been busy with jobs this year but in-between all that, awhile back solar sparked my interest and I've been working on a solar generator project. Finally got it up and running today. 200 watt panels. 20A mppt controller. (2) 100ah batteries. 1500 watt pure sine wave inverter. Have had the chest freezer plugged in for a few hrs and it's working nicely. The way this world's going, I figured it can't hurt to have another form of power source. Now that this is done, my brain already is thinking of building a bigger setup lol

Very tidy work Mike. The attention to detail is obvious.

Sometimes heading into town they are in the middle of a blackout I'm oblivious to it everything is normal at my place lol

A usb charge station is handy and cheap to make, pretty much everything is usb charged now day's... Never have to worry about charging ya laptop, Phones, ipad, ,torches, batteries etc..

Just could not let this sit in a bucket. Saw has less than and hour run time and owner did not want to put more money into it, just purchased another 592 to replace it. Sent @srcarr52 cracked flywheel side half case for repair, should be back first of this week. Ordered gaskets, aluminum case boltsView attachment 339306 View attachment 339307 View attachment 339308 View attachment 339309 View attachment 339310 (manual says not to reuse, do not understand torque to spec, then turn 90 degrees, why not just have a torque spec?), new top handle and clutch cover. Guts look very nice, may have to order a new fuel tank, tried welding it and using Locktite hdpe sealant (will see).
Not a cheap repair, but WTH.

Some of you may have felt a shift in the force, I did. Tree service friend was having a hard time finding 540's at local dealer (needed one quick), so someone said (maybe me) try a MS201, saw one in Grayling Ace. He purchased one and I repaired it next day after his climber slammed it into tree, DAMN now he owns two of them. Think his 540 days are now over. What have I done!!!!!

The bolts are "torque to yield" bolts they stretch, that's why you can't re-use them, it's the craziest way to make bolts (my opinion) look up 6.0 Ford diesel head bolts same type concept just not aluminum... Use once and throw away... and they are actually some made with a taper to stretch...

Went to the local dealer on Saturday "just to see what he had"..... this followed me home. Had a few 10-12" logs lying around that I bucked up with it. I'm quite impressed even in stock form. Going to be a rowdy little saw with some work on the bench20220613_154504.jpg

I slaughtered the battery pack I salvaged out of a battery recycling bin.
As I suspected the pack contains 4 18650 Li-Ion cells which seem to be healthy.
All 4 had a voltage of merely 1.37V, which tells me that they got under discharged and the battery packs protection circuitry cut in.
A loss for the previous owner, a win for me.

The cells specs are:
- Molicel, ICR18650H
- 3.7V
- 2200 mAh max (2100 mAh nominal)
- 4Amp discharge max
- Made in Taiwan

These will work great in a LED flashlight, high capacity, low discharge current.
I am happy with my find! :)
I couldn't salvage the battery packs case, it was glued together and broke apart upon prying it open. The packs circuitry looks functional.

The 051

Rotten fuel lines, broken kill switch wire, rear handle tied with wire, bar is toast, chain is toast due to bad bar, sprocket is worn, erratic idle, bar studs were both loose, AF cover cracked.
But, she is in running condition now, made a couple cuts after grinding the saws well worn .404" chipper chain.

I replaced the fuel lines and it started to work, but something goes wrong with this engine, you need to check the carburetor and check the intake

I found 2 potential causes, see in the photo broken elements for the fuel lines and the other one is protruding upwards 2 valves on the carburettor diaphragm
