066 got a new clutch. Not sure what to expect with it being a totally different design.

Have to use your imagination on the 465 that got the oiler and cluch fixed. 562 that got all rebuilt and 576 that got a new brake handle and stuff. There was one other but I can't remember what it was

Up next a 2171w and 357xpg that need to get the heat working.........

Very nice clean weld work.

Am I being deceived though, S.S or aluminum? Bead kinda looks like S.S but the color is throwing me off.

Steven
Thank you sir! It is stainless, I brush my welds right away when they’re hot to take the oxidized color off. I’ll get a little brown tint later if the surrounding metal got hot and I’ll hit that with a grey fine 3m scotch pad and it comes right off. I like the color of stainless welds, but it’s actually the metal oxidizing with the atmosphere and loses its anti corrosive properties. Brushing the colored oxidization off exposes the chromium in the stainless again and makes it corrosion resistant once more.

weld prep is key, I buff and clean my metal before welding and wipe clean with acetone. Working in the food industry I’ve learned how to get a good finish on a weld!

You ever use helium as a shielding gas? Makes a damn nice weld. Have a friend that all he does is S.S tig work. Custom makes pipe and tanks for dairy farms and cheese factory applications. I thought he was nuts......... I was right but for different reasons. His lil helium tip makes some purdy welds for sure.

Keep up the good work my friend.

I just use straight argon and thought that was the best one to use! I’ll definitely try the helium out though, especially if it works for your buddy doing sanitary welds on piping. I haven’t even been tig welding a year and am having fun learning new things along the way.

Picked up this Echo twin a few days ago, it fired up easily but wouldn't accelerate unless the throttle was feathered. After a good cleaning and carb work it now runs strong.

0BAAF999-B140-4077-8DEF-47C7FF201207.jpeg Food!!!! Started a slow burn on an $88 brisket and 1 rack of baby back ribs with lemon pepper for the wife a 1 rack of St. Louis ribs with Ghost pepper for me:).
This food would have cost about 1/2 of what I spent this time last year. I never would have thought I would live long enough to see a $3.50 loaf of bread. I’m changing my thinking. The ribs should be done in time for lunch. Brisket will come off about 6:00.

Do you wrap your brisket after a certain amount of hours?

Yes, about half way in (7 hrs ) I’ll wrap it in two layers of heavy duty RW to finish it. I cut as much as the fat away as I can get to and sometimes I inject them with beef broth to try and keep them moist. This one I did not. The last one I did wasn’t worth the trouble. It’ll be fine when wrapped after about 7 hours. Good Morning Doc!

Picked up a little generator for camping. Got for under asking price. I never even tried to dicker him down. He went lower on his own lol.
Its a little rough around the edges but runs good after i cleaned carb and made a new gasket. Changed the oil and had it running for a good 30 mins under about half load. It should work just to run the rv. (Not the ac)

Shindaiwa 695 fuel line was leaking in the carb box.
I had replaced the original with a grommet & Stihl fuel line running thru it.
Stihl ran good but would smell mix anytime it was on its side & would have considerable amount in carb box.

Found a Stihl 462 line yesterday with built in grommet & figured I'd try it.
Absolutely PERFECT fit!
Filled it with mix & turned it on its side, no more leakage.

WAY better quality than the original, I'm a happy camper!

Finally got around to sandblasting (80 grit Black Beauty medium) & painting my "Murdered Out" Craftsman 3.3 muffler...

Left the muffler & paint can in the hot sun for about an hour before painting.

Did 3 coats of Rust-Oleum high heat (1200°) grill paint.

I just did the front half of the muffler being the lazy arse I am!
Didnt even bother to do the bolts or washers.
It turned out really well & I WILL be doing others (with more attention to the details) in the future!

You can see the rust on the back saw...
DSCN8244.JPG

It's a work saw so it doesn't really matter, I just dont like rust! Lol
Today...

I'll ask my pops. He collects old arctic cat race sleds. I think the purple powerlube was late 60's early 70's. Smells unique when used. Sometimes I will mix some up just to bring back memories of the old sleds. Run it through the kids kitty kat or one of my old panthers.
