Split case, new bearings oem, crank seals OEM, gaskets, meteor piston, caber rings, OEM fuel line, filter, OEM tank vent filter, motoseal, blue thread sealant, few other needed parts. Went to pick up new carb kit and finish it. Hit a road block, kit has all spacers, needle, reed valve, filter and plugs, but no diaphragm. Has never happened to me like that before, never too old to learn, check before driving home. IMG_20220211_130552730.jpg

Compression comparison before tear down and before I ran it. Fired right up and seemed like it ran real good. Ended up wrapping this handle like the last 2 I did. Made 2 cuts with it in some cedar burying a 24” bar and the second cut seemed funny. Now it fires up then acts like it slowly runs out of fuel. If I choke it she fires off and does the same thing. Ideas? Before I swapped the hyway pop up piston in and deleted the base gasket it seemed like when I was limbing or blipping the throttle a bunch clearing brush before taking a tree down it would get that low fuel stumbling and hesitate and want to die. Now it seems like it’s doing it at idle. I did find that cracked intake boot, not sure if it was like that before or from when I removed it?A9CDA489-F9C1-48E9-B232-5B0953BE22B0.jpeg848EFC68-EF8D-46ED-9A9C-E30B9A390A3D.jpeg D66B2F6B-14D3-49AB-922D-E458371CCD5B.jpegA2E72E30-F2DA-4C21-997F-F0676F60DF2E.jpeg

Dumb question but ,did you change the fuel line and filter?

Sunday gunday. Changing some things up on the Spikes.
The importance of why you lap rings. High spots and unevenness can ruin an optic.
Prism sight off. Vortex 6-18x44 scope on. Vortex cantilever. These are nice as they have helicoil inserts. Standard trigger was swapped out for a Timney AR impact trigger @ 3lbs. Magpul PRS Lite back end. I like these because LOP and cheek pad are all adjustable without the usual pile of spacers and has a qd mount.

I've got a 192T a buddy sent my way that "only runs at half throttle and it's a bi-atch to start", a PM6 that has an air leak, an 026 that I've put a new fuel line and carb screen in so I'm assuming all it needs now is for me to sharpen the chain, and my 056 Super. The 192 got a carb kit and a new muffler bolt, I also had a buddy weld up some holes in it from a tossed chain, all I'm waiting on is a new a/v spring and it should be ready to go. Who knew saws don't like getting tossed out of trees when they don't start? (I'd probably do the same thing with it, though).

The 056 is "done", but I need to address some stuff. Namely, it ripped the pull handles off both recoils I had! I did a BGD like the p.o. did as well as a slight timing advance, the jug was already ported and the carb was already bored/smoothed so I left it that way. The saw ripped the first cord through when I tried to start it and it ripped the second cord when I tried to get a comp reading. It was over 180psi and steadily climbing when the rope pulled through the handle. I see the dual-pawl mod and maybe a D-handle and a decomp in it's future.

Last week my local dealer offered up a straight-gassed ms362 to me to play with. I have too many projects going on to take on another, but I offered to try cleaning up the cylinder for him. He insisted the jug was trash, but I couldn't see any gouges. I spent about 10min on the jug last night, and I think it will clean up just fine after some more work.

I wouldn't hesitate to use that cylnder, but a dealer is kinda required to have different standards than me.

I totally get that. I suggested he put the saw together with a new OEM piston and keep it up at his cabin…still could use it for parts if he really needed to.

My last non-running saw has hit the bench, the very clean 2003 model Husky 350 I was given last year. The p.o. said it just wouldn't start one day, it has spark and a new plug so that's bueno. After a good cleaning I discovered that it needs a clutch spring, clutch drum, the updated clamp (which I have), and a muffler bracket. I'm looking forward to having this guy added to my stable, the 346 I ran didn't impress me but the 350's I've run I've enjoyed.

Seek medical attention. You've lost your mind somewhere Daniel.
Yeah, but I get along okay without it. I know they're the super saw, but I just didn't like my 346. It was fast but at the time it just felt too damn heavy next to my MS250, so I swapped it off for an 056 Mag II alky saw with a two-piece head. I've never regretted it. I'm just happy this husky is all one color and not salmon pink like some of the early ones.
