On the late-model SEM with the one-piece flywheel, yes. On the early type with the two-piece flywheel there is a removable module bit and a huge block of potting.
Do you have any pictures of the ignition on the saw?

Sweet wrap! Finding those is nearly impossible I believe!
Thanks! I actually custom fit it from a 044. Bottom holes and 1/2 on the side line up. I ended up I laying a piece of flatbar in the case as an extension and bolted through that to connect both holes. Super solid setup. This junk saw I found in a box I’m actually growing fond of the way it’s turning out haha

Got the cylinder ready to back on the 036, just need to go get some copper gasket sealant and throw it back together. Squish came out in the .018”-.020” range with no gasket. With that and a pop up piston I’m hoping for a noticeable increase! 6D499944-A0EB-4F2B-887F-3D8F4BF3FD96.jpeg

How much extra compression do pop up pistons typically give? Like 10 psi give or take? They always seem like insignificant height increases, but I know these engines are small and every bit helps.

That small bump can do a lot in a saw that already has good compression. In a saw with too much squish or an overly large combustion chamber it doesn’t do nearly as much.

Nothing fancy, case split, new bearings, seals, fuel line, piston ring, case gasket, carb clean, metal clamp, all oem parts, etc. Let sealant dry, run it and ship it home. 394 is next in line. View attachment 326860 View attachment 326861

I like the " nothing fancy = case split" farking shops don't even split cases anymore, as its too involved. Don't sell yourself short you did a fine job.

Watched a video the other day where a guy used para cord and athletic tape to wrap his saw handles with. He said the tape gets tackier over time, but never makes his hands sticky. My 880 handle wrap has been coming off ever since I bought it so figured that was a good candidate to try it on. Then used the rest on my 032 handle. I pulled the inside strands out of the para cord and just used the outside sheathing on the 032 for a thinner profile. I like how they feel! Just wish I had enough to finish the last 2” of my 032 and do my 036! If they hold up alright I’ll do more of my saws, wet conditions make those forearms work overtime juggling a 066 and 36” bar around, this may help!EF614AD5-EAB5-484D-AF81-FBE1AD23F1B9.jpeg9D2B6663-C60E-4DFC-836A-33AA9F6644B0.jpeg 9B1CC757-F5FC-4B04-8B2B-01C1B6ECA8AD.jpeg33451549-0F15-430D-A7B5-0A97550C4C6F.jpeg F8AB32C1-1DB9-4847-93A1-1A77C3617F68.jpeg

Pictures please!

Best I got for now. Ordering parts, making room, figuring out what is broken, etc. etc. So far the 372 runs, the 311 sputters, the rest do not run and either have scored pistons or just straight up part saws (bottom middle 046).
