A few highlights from the tear down of the 056 carcasses (not the intact ones, yet). All the Mag II’s have base gasket deletes, and one was ported! The case without a jug has a bad rod bearing and the one half is pretty rotted, so I’ll pop the bearing and studs out then pitch it in the can. One looks like it was straight gassed very early on as there is no carbon buildup in the cylinder and the piston crown is spotless. However, there’s also a few mud dauber nests in there and there is what appears to be blood of an unknown age still on the cases.

Oh yeah, in case you’ve ever wondered if you can wear out a rim-style drum, now you know
I've seen the drive links wear through the rim sprocket and into the clutch drum. I've NEVER seen a rim sprocket wallered out like that though. That's brutal! Can you imagine what it felt like, or worse, sounded like to run it like that?!

Not much. Did some cleaning up and upgraded my cordless tools. The impact driver kit was 199 and the 3/8 and 1/2 impacts were 199 each and with both tools and the kit I got a free 5ah battery. So 3 new tools and 4 new batteries.

Where is the go-to place for new wrap tubing? I picked up a 288 Pro Safety wrap that's missing the rubber and I'd like to put new grips on it before I put it on the saw.
I used shrink tubing I got off Amazon on a saw and it worked pretty good.

I found this inside of the n.i.b. Walbro carb I installed on a trimmer:
View attachment 316287

I had an issue with a 572xp that would want to die coming off the throttle. Sometime did
Had about 3 tanks through it. And I controlled the fuel so pretty confident it was good
Finally pulled the carb and found the screen fowled worse than that
Cleaned and now runs like it should
