Guy with the Echo texted me back and said go ahead with the service and new bar and chains. They'll be here by the end of next week. Finished up the WorkZone pressure washer and it ran great. Pressure washed part of the side of the garage (vinyl siding) and it performed well with the turbo nozzle. I'm returning both his machines tomorrow midday to him.

Played around with figuring out the video editor on my new laptop. I'm currently uploading a video to Youtube now and I'll post it as a new reply to this thread.
Too bad he never said too much and to keep it. Thats how i got my husky 181. Needed 300 in parts and he didnt wanna spend the money.

A jonsered 630 a guy on AS shipped me. His dealer told him it was "junk" and "unfixable" well the only thing "wrong" was a decomp that was leaking badly. I'm giving it new seals, fuel system makeover, caber ring, spark plug and some gaskets.

Oh and 630's never had a decomp, this one had a 272 p&c.

The p&c may have been changed because it may have been the 2 thin ring piston. Pretty much impossible to find the rings. I had to find a single ring piston for one that I had rebuilt.

This is a 630 super 2 year 1993, they were all single ring pistons by then. Who knows why it has a different p&c but with the 52mm set up it should have a good increase in power.

A fellow brought this in on Friday, said it just sputtered and quit. I was able to get it to start on a prime but it doesn't seem to pull fuel on its own. I disassembled the carburetor and nothing seemed too bad. Fuel line is attached and the fuel filter looks to be good. Compression is only 60 PSI, I did check the valve clearances and they are O.K.

I am open to suggestions including telling him to get a new one.

I did remove the muffler, everything looks to be in very good condition.

I am not familiar with this carburetor, I surmise the diaphragm itself closes the fuel inlet since there is no metering needle. The diaphragm is a little "crinkly" but it seems flexible enough.

A compression test on a 4 stroke does not really work. They are designed with a compression release for easier starting. True compression is after a certain rpm. To check the condition of the rings and valves, one has to use a cylinder pressure tester.

No. This diaphragm is needed for the 4 Mix engine to boost the impulse signal. 4 Mix (4 Stroke) Engines have an impulse which is not so strong as from a 2 stroke engine, because the primary compressin in the cranckcase is lower as on a 2 stroke engine. I would replace this diaphragm and the other diaphragms of this carburetor too. Also give the carb a good cleaning. Which carburetor is it? C1Q-S174? Model no. is written on there.

The inlet needle is on the other side where the primer bulb is. Remove the primer, cover and gasket/metering diaphragm and you will find the inlet needle.

Husqvarna 336LS got a complete fuel system overhaul. New carb, fuel filter, fuel lines, and purge bulb. Also installed a new air filter, plug and fuel cap. Found a lovely cocktail that was about 7/8 water and 1/8 premix in the tank. Flushed and dried tank. Runs great now. Did a bunch of trimming with it too. Gonna use it for the rest of the yard in a day or two.
