Wow. We need a MAXFLO filter for these new saws.

Why bother deleting one of the best features of the 462? Air injection is one of the main reasons I bought one. There is a reason max flow doesn't make filters for husky saws, they DNT need them w air injection coming from the factory, it's already a superior design.

True...
But if Maxflo made some round foam filters to fit these Stihl 462s, I bet they would sell and get more air in.

I just put one on a 661 I ported for a customer, liked it on that model, but the OEM filter has worked great for me on my 462. Always good to have options I guess, if they do one I hope they keep it's shape close to factory on the cover, the 660,066,064 cover is bulky and ugly IMO.

It's all about the bling. It was what the customer wanted. Who am I to argue. LOL

440-660 covers suck, sharp too. you have to chamfer the edges or else. It would be nice if they updated the earlier covers. The 661 cover is spot on.

Just ftr.... i use stihl r3 for fuel line as a husky sub....but that impulse line is still best as oem since its pre bent. :)
OEM one was delivered in the mail a little bit earlier. If I have issues with the R3 I'll install the oem. I did check it for patency and it is patent. Once I had the cylinder back on I pulled it over and I can hear pressure and vacuum at the pulse port.

Maxflo doesn't seem to be to interested in making any new filters. Not sure why

Back to grinding blades, this one belongs to @ranchdadmike . I think I'm gonna have to push my timeline back a few weeks. I've gotten a few extra orders, but many because of materials being backordered, took me a couple weeks to get some metal in,so that put me behind.

Getting my 1950/51 Briggs 6S running again. Popped on a prime but wouldn't pull fuel. A quick 1/2 hour session in the ultrasonic had the jet and needle looking much better. Dumped the rotten fuel, soaking the tank with some brake cleaner overnight. It's a cast iron block with aluminum sump and head. 1.5 hp at 3200 rpm. Breaker point magneto ignition and an oil bath air cleaner.
