Go grab a 30A generator cord from Harbor Freight. 25 or 30ft cord cheap. Just as good as anyone other cord I've seen so far.
Use the 20% off coupon.

Called the local Harbor Freight and they are out of stock. I already have a length of 10/3 and I ordered the appropriate ends from eBay, an L14-30P for the generator end and a 10-30P for the other end. The other end plugs into the 220v welder outlet and then I just kill the main breaker in the basement. Not the proper way to do it but it works.

OK. I prefer the factory finished ends myself. But what you have works too.

Doesn't fit on my workbench, however I did get my new to me 272S fired up.

Yes, the unusual contraption that uses a 272XP power head with an advanced filtration system, to spin a disc that has teeth on it.

Fired up after filling the tank and pulling a few times.

Been sitting for a while at the shop, when I visited it again, and it followed me home last week after I bought it.

Price would make me a "You suck" labelled person.

It was less than half of a clean used 272 saw variant. Tons of compression and has a real nice pop to it while idling.

She needs a little cleaning to remove some dust from the outside of it, which is understandably due to the job it has of grinding stumps.

EDIT: Clearing up possible lack of clarity.

I'm thinking it is SOOW cord. Tonight's repair is a Chinese 3500 watt generator that was flooding over, found a dirty carb. Carb is swimming in the ultrasonic cleaner for half an hour. Did some cleaning/organizing, had a cold beer and I'm cranking some classic country. A nice relaxing evening after a long hot day at work.

I did manage to get the bar cleaned up, I got started on the chain but I have a long way to go on that.

If anyone has photos or illustrations of how the stop switch is supposed to look I would be interested.

Bar and chain before.

Working through the big pile of stuff to repair. Finished up the push mower this evening. Also replaced the keyswitch on my mower which has been intermittently not working.

23 hp Briggs Intek 23 hp in for running on one cylinder... pulled valve cover found a bent intake push rod and exhaust push rod gone. Did a leakdown test and checked the valves per the advice that @Onan18 gave me and found out that I'll be able to save the customer a lot of money.

Im calling on the pros. My dad said he was using his mower(running fine) then shut it off and now it wont start. Just out of nowhere. Heres the thing, when u go to start it, it back fires almost instantly. It sounds like some sort of sensor to me maybe? Im guessing electrical or a fuel issue? Literally have not messed with it yet. But dads the guy that rolls it out by the road and im the guy that likes fixing things. Just seems like it should be simple. TIA fellas! :Dimage.jpg
