I presume you are inferring checking the transfer tunnel and removing any perceived choke points?

I also presume more surface area on the lower will often produce a better "squirt" from the upper, like having a larger hose go into a small nozzle?

I found the size difference between the width of the lower transfer from the 066 to the 660 very interesting, and I know the 066s generally run better!

You still like bridge ports in the larger saws? (or some models, or some cylinders???)

When I asked another builder about them at a GTG his response was a very amusing "they don't hurt"!!!

Many times I do all I can to lower the exhaust port. That in turn can make the intake a little too long. So the biggest removal of material in this case is from the squish band, and the base. So....in pictures it can look like nothing much has really been done. Yeah....I still use both bridge ports and finger ports in some engines.

Doing some mower shopping online.... gonna talk to mom and dad about getting a new mower for next year....my current one is 17 years old and starting to nickel and dime me to death. Repairs to the deck and new bags has already cost me around $200, I'll probably be into it for another $100 to $200. At this point I just want something turnkey. Found a nice 50" cut Toro Timecutter zero turn with 10 gauge fabricated deck and 23 hp Kawasaki V Twin engine. MSRP is $2300. Add a bagger kit, LED lights and hour meter and it'll probably be around $4000. As I do all of my own maintenance and repair I'll probably have it for a long time.

I have a exmark and i can tell you it's sweeeet! Would probably sell another 15 saws to buy another if anything happens ton this one.
Been running this for the past 17 years. 2003 17-44zx. It's on its third engine. It's had a 17.5 hp Intek single cylinder, 12.5 hp Kohler Command single cylinder and the current engine is a 12.5 hp Briggs I/c Gold flathead. It's going to my parents house in the spring.
