Only saw i saw beat up on a Mike Toath 346 is a Mike Toath 5105. Same bar and chain, same sprocket, same wood, 4 second difference
Told you I love all the good saws no matter who makes them. Show me a 50cc better than a 346?

Still not saying a 5105 is better cause I love the feel and agility of the 346 better

Must have been, we were planning to use it for the Cabin post + beams, so we would not have been milling a crocked piece. (Note: it is all Ash)

Luckily, we milled extra, cause you loose some due to warping or checking. All were 6.5" X 6.5".

For the cabin we used: 8-12'; 2-17'; 4-20'; and 3-27' pieces. The Cabin is 20' X 24' and 2 stories high. The two sides each need 4-12' posts spaced 8' apart. The two 17' posts are in the middle, front and back, to support the Ridge Beam. The 4-20' beams go across attached at 8' high to the posts. The 3-27' are across the top of the 12' posts on each side, providing 1.5' of overhang on each end. The dimension of the Ridge Beam was 3.5" X 9.5" X 27'. We used the other pieces milled from that log for the stair stringers.

Framing. All the posts + beams were milled with stock 70 cc saws (441 and 044) using a Beam Machine.

It would have gone so much faster with the ported 90 cc saws I currently own!

Construction spanned 2013-2017, and is still a work in progress.
