The saw didn't have anything but the duckbill when I got it, I was wondering if I could insert a piece of line and just use a echo type vent or something? The white pieces I have don't seem to have any way to hold onto currently

You have the umbrella in there now. The duckbill is #22, and they don’t interchange. I may have what you need. I’ll look once home from hospital. I don’t have an 036 anymore. You can have them if they will work.

I appreciate that, sorry I meant umbrella. Not as familiar with these tank vents in these models, my uncle is a Stihl guy and only has a 041 yet to cut with, did some trading for this one and gathered the parts to try and make him a reliable saw. It runs good now, did some slight port work to it. And the Mustang Mike Trifecta

Originally the white vent housing snapped into place on the tank (the 046 had a similar set-up for a while). Don't be afraid to put a little Shoe Goo on the vent housing piece and 'glue' it to the tank.

It's not a great design. The umbrella or duckbill valves are what actually provide positive venting for the tank (building slight pressure but disallowing a vacuum).

Shindaiwa brushcutter got a new carb, fuel lines, fuel and air filters. Runs excellent just need to wash it.

Echo blower got checked out however customer decided to just buy a new one. He gave it to me. I'm going to fix and sell it. Just needs carb kit, purge bulb and fuel lines.

Got my yard equipment running and cut the grass for the first time this year.

Dug out the Craftsman box and put it on top of my new box. Will most likely be used for parts storage.

Yes,, you have run into this B4??

Yes sir. Very common issue with the original coils. Quick swap out and you will be good to go.

Oem coils are a little pricy but the am Sierra seem to hold up just fine if you want to save a few bucks.

Looks like someone cut a compression relief for easy start-up why on a 661 who knows not a hard saw to start?
The easiest way to explain how they work is remember the old long tube type push bike air pumps we all had as a kid?
If you pump them slow it was easy to pump air.
But try to go flat out it would get hard to pump and lock the pump up the air couldn't escape out of the small hole in the end of the pump fast enough.
Air is a liquid the faster you compress it the harder it gets that's how these compression release cuts work on a 2T air can bleed off on start up (slow moving of air) but when the engine is running very little if any fast compressed air on the up and down can escape out the relief.

Not needed on stock saw's IMHO but on really high compression ported saw's like most guy's on here have it might help tame some them cranky hard to start saw's without any overall loss in performance.
