I never said you ran it with a dull chain or that you abuse equipment, but that from what I've seen they go bad from running a dull chain.I have never, ever cut with a dull chain and I do not abuse my equipment. I'll grab some photos when I can. I have posted them already on this issue.
If you like your friends, get the saws back and change out the plastic to a metal clamp. I do not use the saw just for this very reason. Piston and cylinder were perfect. Saw ran very well when I did run it...
That's what I believe happens. All the one I have gotten that had the top end toasted the clamps were loose....
All the ones I have gotten that were not toasted the clamps were not loose....
It would not surprise me if the top end meltdowns cause the clamps to lose their tension.

That happens.I hear you.
Things got lost in the text.
The saw still runs well. I just won't use it until I get that metal clamp on it...
Bad juju to blow up a saw that you know has a potential issue.
What he said ^^^^^ !As long as it 4 strokes out of the cut it would be fine. Failure to adjust the tune is no different than not cleaning the air filter or not sharpening a dull chain.
That's usually true on a standard carb saw, but not the case on an mtronic or Autotune saw, unfortunately it's one of the downsides. What he said ^^^^^ !

I think it all depends on what oil (color and ratio) that you run..............Just another day on ope arguing about chainsaws. Lol
You need to trim that plastic off throw a metal clamp on it Dude ...These are old photos but you can see the plastic pulling away from the bottom and separating. View attachment 213257 View attachment 213258
