I think you’ll find that the centre insert is sized to match a Vortex as it was designed to match the inside hole of the Weber grate.

Yeah, it's the same size as the center of the Summit grate also, so if I ever had a hankering to, I could use the cast section on the summit. Still wish it was larger, but I've been enjoying having it. It did great on those potatoes last night.

How are you liking the Summit? Is it getting much use?

My next grill is going to be one of these locally built teppen style grill. Outer edge is a 1/2” Carbon Steel griddle. Will actually need to keep a saw or 2 to harvest wood to feed this beast...

That's a nice looking setup. Similar to the stand-alone Arteflames. I wish a guy could test drive stuff like that. I think I'd like to use one, but at the price they charge, it'd be a bummer to be wrong.

LOVE the summit. Use it several times a week. It's super convenient to use. I top off the charcoal every 2-3 cooks. Otherwise, I give the fuel a little poke and twist the knob to light it up. After that, I feel like it reads my mind for temp settings. Anything from 225-600 with the deflector or a nice operable grilling setup, with a direct zone on one side and a safe spot on the other. It really is amazing how steady it holds temps. Plenty of real estate too. Though, I'm not gonna lie, those Glen Blue 26" kettles are tempting me. Guess I've got the Weber bug...

Damn. I got excited last week because I found butts for $1.19 lb.

Crazy thing on this deal it was US Pork. Cryopac sealed and a short date. No idea why no one South jumped on the deal from the producer. That or someone is trying to piss off our farmers dumping cheap pork. USMCA free trade pact at its finest...

Was at the local, small town, grocery this morning.
Happened to see these. $.88lb for twin packed pork butts. I bought some.
This is as cheap as I've seen them in quite some time.
