Grilled up some tandoori-style chicken breasts and some garlic naan bread. My wife whipped up some tasty peas and tomatoes to round it all out. Didn't get a pic while it was on the grill. Things were happening fast once the naan started going on. rps20200813_194352_445.jpg

Did up some strip steaks sous vide style in a cooler full of 130F water with a quick sear in the middle of the Arteflame. Potatoes on the griddle section then tossed with some broccoli, mushrooms, and asian sauce. rps20200816_193952_975.jpg

Turned out pretty tasty. There's a Vietnamese place in St. Paul that makes a similar potato dish I was trying to replicate. Wish I could figure out how they do it. The taters are like extra thick ruffles chips covered in delicious sauce. Saucy, but somehow still crispy, at least for the first several minutes after they get to the table. They must go right from a deep fryer into the sauce or something.

Gfy.

Err, I mean, what's up, Nic? I was gonna wait till I had something rolling on the griddle before I took any pictures, but since you asked. View attachment 253423 View attachment 253422

Not having used it, I think it'd be nice if the grate section in the middle was maybe 2/3 as big as it is and the solid portion was larger. Maybe I'll feel differently once I use it. I figure I can set a cast iron skillet in the middle if I want more flat space.

It's more of an experiment than anything else. If I love it I'll keep it. If not, I paid about what the Arteflame costs by itself, so it shouldn't be too hard to liquidate the whole rig.

I think you’ll find that the centre insert is sized to match a Vortex as it was designed to match the inside hole of the Weber grate.

I’ll have to call the butcher and see if he has those/ can get and how much.

A local grocer has the picnic shoulder for $.97/lb so going to buy a couple more of those for the freezer if nothing else.

When I clicked on this thing here, another three pages behind...typical again. Fine lookin’ groceries fellas. I’ll try to get back in the saddle, have grilled/smoked quite a bit of groceries, just forget to take the damn pics. With the work regimen, 6-7 days a week, coupled with this Covid horseshitt, when I do get a Sat and Sun off...I’m looking at Subway or something. For $10.70 out the door for two loaded with every damn thing they got foot-longs, I been gang-busting those $5 each foot-longs, and I gotta a Subway within half a mile from my house. I’ve got a Jimmy John’s and Jersey Mikes the same distance...you just can’t beat the two foot-longs on-line, you get the entire menu of Subway grub doing it on-line for $5 dolla each.

I’ll get back in here soon enough with the pics of groceries. The Govt airplane business is playing catch-up right now...and all squadrons of aircraft maintenance and getting these mf’s outta here is ramping up, and has been here lately. With a sporadic, hit and miss workforce right now, it’s crunch time to make these aircraft deliveries across six different aircraft that serve different roles.

You fellas have put up some fine pics...bar none!

I can’t remember what the fresh ham was, but it was a helleva lot more than that.
