a bit on the side, how strong is the muriatic acid you`re using, Doc?

Strong enough you do not want to get it on anything other than the area's that you're trying to get rid of transfer stuff works really good so be careful with it

I could say something but will refrain .Only to say just like motor oils there are synthetic substitutes available .

That frivolity aside I've always just used 3M greenies and kerosene with elbow grease .Tried a flap wheel once and ground right through the plating,very bad plan .
I've never tried the Randy method of Scotch Brite on an arbor but it looks promising and require a lot less elbow grease .

I made a big boo boo some time ago .Straight gassed with a prime bottle a model 805 Mac I had rebuilt with an 850 cylinder .I cooked it ,sad day indeed .I can save the cylinder the piston will become a small paper weight .When I do I'm going to try the Scotch -Brite thing on an arbor .It's a back burner job --some day .
