I used to run a 25 stihl es or a 28 oregon light bar on the 034 and 036 before i got rid of them .
I ran a 24 (25") ES on my 029 Super for a few years, before I knew any better. Back then, I didn't realize what a heavy vibrating turd that saw was.
My first good saw an MS260 with a 16"bar. I asked the salesman about putting an 18" setup on it cause bigger is better. He asked how often 16" wouldn't be long enough, which truthfully was almost never. He said the 16" would effectively give me 15% more power and the bar and chain replacements would cost less. He said buy a 20" setup and keep it handy but use the 16" setup on a regular basis. Don't know about his figures but he was sincerely trying to save me money when he could have just upped the price.
I have a 20" -3/8 on a ms 361 but i would put a 3/8- 18 " on it at the next change due to the 20" making it a bit nose heavy. With the mid 50 cc saws if there on .325 bars then i might have a 18" bar but mostly I favour a 15"bar.
Keep an eye on Jon's redneck homejob reduced weight bar-hack thread and maybe make one yourself. Its really not that hard & you can make them much lighter than the factory ones. Got a cutoff wheel & HF $29 angle grinder? One day I might try a "light" bar. Saving a few ounces doesn't seem worth the premium price. Certainly if I was slinging a 36" for a living, but not for a firewood hack running a 24"

I still have some of those 32" K095's.I run a 20" sugihara with a 8 tooth sprocket on my ported 562. I'm about to put together my ported 262 and I'll see what that likes. I have 18, 20 and 24" bars for it.
