I prefer a 24"/25" bar on a 70cc saws for most applications. It's a good balance in my opinion. Anything longer that a 25" bar I like a 90cc class chainsaw.
So far , so good despite being diagnosed with prostate cancer. The good news is that it is insignificant enough to not require any intervention (radiation) at this time. I'm hoping to outlive it!
IMO 20”-24” bar is the sweet spot for a MS440.
A standard weight 20” bar balances nice.
A light weight 24” bar also balances nice.
A MS440 doesn’t generally oil well enough to wear a 28” bar full time.
I had just got done reassembling the saw after porting it. Was too excited to wait until morning to send a video to the owner. Good ole headlamp I just went after the round I split on so it's rip cutting.
Ya the owner of it seems super happy. It came to me as a non runner. I've worked on every saw he owns. 372 xtorq ported 260pro ported, 440 ported, gifted him a 038 magnum clone ported that aswell, 200 plus psi on the clone. And I repaired his 250. Seems I've somewhat got a nack for this. 10 months ago I didn't know anything about chainsaws other than what a chainsaw was.
