What oil is best? and what ratio?

I run it, it's the same or similar to Husqvarna XP oil, has fuel stabilizer already in it, is a blended oil, blue in color, usually quite affordable when found and performs well for me @40:1.

At least it's easy to use 2 for 35:1

BTW my Echo bottles had consistently just under 2.5oz, so either my measuring cup is off, or they're shorting me.

Funny you mention that...

When I was mixing last week a 2.5 gallon red armor bottle only measured out around 60:1 when I dumped it in my ratio rite.

If things turn out as planned, I’ll need to buy a gallon of 2 stroke oil. I’ll either buy that or a gallon of Klotz super techniplate.

Not too long ago I ordered 2 gal of AMSOIL Saber (to get free shipping) and split the cost with a friend (1 gal each).

IMO, mixed at 40:1, it provides excellent protection, and I run it in all my 2 cycle stuff.

It doesn't have to be that way. I've tried a hell of a lot of different oils. After modifying a hell of a lot of saws, I've yet to fry one due to the oil.

Would be interested in seeing what you get after you compare pricing. I've had saws with this sitting in it for well over a year and it's still just fine to run and no fuel system issues. This being in old antique, brand new and ported pro power saws along with other ope that gets seasonal use. Also starts easy in the winter time, being a blend. I like to keep things simple, easy and working, this oil does that for me. Going through fuel like I do, being cost effective isn't a bad thing either.



Don't ask me how it smells, I don't huff exhaust or anything else for that matter.

I run Mobil 1 in my wife's van (0w30). I drain it at 5,000 miles, and use that to top off the 350 in my old square body. Unfortunately, I don't drive the square enough to burn all of the drain oil that the Sienna makes.

So, what ratio should I mix used 0w30 to use in a modern chainsaw? Do I need to mix it thinner if I'm using an AT/MT saw?

I used to go 15,000 on Castrol Full Synthetic, but I was driving over 36,000/yr back then. That was in my 92 T Bird SC, and I got over 250,000 miles on it!

I drove it so hard (I went through my divorce then) the keyway in the crank that held the crank sensor gave way!

The engine and drivetrain in that car were tough as nails (a SC V-6 w/5 speed manual), but I bent the crap out of the 5 speed shifter cause it would not shift fast enough (was a Mazda Truck Tranny). The guy in the tranny shop stated "he did not understand how these things got bent". I responded "I did"!!!

Sure: 5k on the van, then infinity miles on the squarebody! I've drained it once in over 8 years of owning it, but I've put well over 5 gallons of oil through it...

5,000 max in the old junk I own/owned, used to do 3,000 in the 88 Ranger with 250,000 on the 2.9L. 200,000 on the 98 WT with the 4.3. I know modern oils is good, but not that good IMHO, and to me the proof in in the pudding.[emoji6]

Exactly i am really amazed by 1:40 Saber nothing comes close from other oils here
