Golden Spectro was very popular when I was growing up. My dad and uncle always ran it in their bikes and sleds. It doesn't really have much to do with oil we use in chainsaws,
but I got to go to the Motorex USA and Spectro facility today. Went through some product training and got to tour the blending and bottling facility. Pretty cool to see.

Hmm, maybe try following the instructions on the bottle and actually put it in the fuel…After Techron soak

Prior to Techron soak.

As you can see the Techron didnt do anything despite soaking for multiple days just as I suspected.
I followed the procedure that Lilspenny did and said worked.Hmm, maybe try following the instructions on the bottle and actually put it in the fuel…
It definitely cleaned up a 268 and my filthy 55 with a high dosage when ran in the fuel.
Thats compelling. I'll give it a try.Pic 1, 2,3 were RA only 25:1. Pic 4 and 5 were RA 25:1 with an ounce of Techron in the tank. Saw is a 268XP that was “new to me”

That's not dirty. Completely normal. When carbon becomes a problem is when its raised or associated with mettalic ash build up as my pictures show. A carbon covered piston with small wash is the normal state. The 55 was extremely dirty, this was 25:1 Dominator. Hard to tell the improvement on the piston cause it was dirty AF…
