Lol. I read people saying 40:1 and 32:1; i have a “measure rite” measuring cup, it has a measurement for 36:1 so I split the difference to be a rebel and to meet in the middle. There is no scientific or mechanical theory behind it. I have tried different ratios and I am not smart enough to tell the difference.
I ran 32:1 and 36:1 most often up until the testing. Only then was I comfortable at 40:1.

I run 93 milliliters, measured in a graduated cylinder normally used in science labs, to one gallon of fuel. Then I rinse the clinging oil out. Yes imma freak.
Just commit you poor metrimperial weirdo!!!

1 litre of petrol (gas).
30ml of oil. 33:1
25ml of oil. 40:1
20ml of oil. 50:1

I'm sure there are ratios after that but meh....

Another thought too....
Just because someone hasn't had an oil related failure at 50:1 but their ope is worn out in say, 3 years vs 5 years at 40:1 or 32:1 under the same usage, is in fact a slow death oil failure in my opinion. Just a hypothesis on my end as 40:1 is the leanest I run. Now I have read stories of loggers switching from 50:1 to 40:1 and getting a couple more years out of a saw. What oil?
No idea but I'm not surprised if these stories are in fact true.
I agree some think worn through plating worn thin rings massive piston skirt wear clapped bearings on a year old full time work saw as normal lol

They don't sell gas by the liter here. Its gallons. The canned VP 94 or Sunoco 95 is in gallons. Im stuck with it. But once I knew that 93 ml was 80:2 in a us gallon I was set.

Who measures the US gallon tho? The pump or you?
Don't mess with my system bro. Lol It works for me. Especially when ma math is all worked out. I have a ratio app that is in liters or gallons. Ounces or ml. I pump a gallon, in goes the 93 ml of pure performance, two Gallons..186. easy preasy.
