Local loggers have switched to red armor echo oil 40:1. They were running mostly 461 and switched to 572xp about a year ago. Out of 9 new 572's 2 of them shattered crank bearings not long into operation. Dealer fixed the 2 saws. They started using red armor and really like it. He told me not to use xp oil. Also told me the 572 are lasting about a year under heavy use. Said stihl would last twice as long but he likes that the 572 doesnt beat him up as bad.
Are they still having problems with the 572? Have they tried the 462?

Started out with echo echo echo....

Ended up here cuz I searched for supertech cuz a land scape company owner buddy who lets me use his lift swears by it. @huskihl says GTG so I got some, also went from 40:1 to 32:1.

but then I got to reading this thread and always wanted to try something that “smells good” so I ordered some benol to try next.

the full synthetic air cooled supertec oil seems OK. Tested better than quite a few other oils in Steve’s tests

I'm using 7000@32-1 mill 40-1 in the rest.
Both run fine in everything. On my third quart soon. Will need more.

Tested good in my tools but never tried it in the mill. Mixes well with all fuels so far.

Anyone tested it with nitro or methanol?
