well that's a little harsh on the ol ego huh?
Your piston is spotless, ( which I doubt it really is if u tear it down), because u r overly rich and cutting without enough load and the oil isnt burning off in the topend. Almost everyone here has told u thats not what u want. Maybe u do and thats fine if u do as I dont think it will hurt anything but then again too I remember Ben speaking of too rich would actually wash the cylinder wallsI never said a piston crown has to look new using any oil. I only said my pistons were spotless and 800 was the cleanest I've used. Along with great lubrication. Assumptions and reality are two different things.
Mike, you have more experience using these oils than me. My next oils to try are motul 710 and 2R. Their tech data are closer to typical chainsaw oils. I enjoy debating you guys since I can't argue with my wife. I always lose that battle.Iv'e got a new piston here for a 7900. If I can find anything to mill this weekend I'll do it with the 800 and see how sticky the crown is with it. I'm too lazy to tear down the 046 to clean the piston from the HP2.
What about me ole buddy?? U dont take my findings as expert??!!Mike, you have more experience using these oils than me. My next oils to try are motul 710 and 2R. I bet it would burn better?710 is a better choice. I ran a half liter of it way back.
You're right above me....rookie then amateur. What about me ole buddy?? U dont take my findings as expert??!!
Did you get a chance to look at the lower end for lubrication?710 is a better choice. I ran a half liter of it way back.
Lol! I work on saws/port, and cut far more wood than u know about ole buddy. I bet I cut more cookies testing saws for myself and customers in 1 week than your basic firewood cutter does in 6 months! Reality over assumptions!!!You're right above me....rookie then amateur.
Im excited about running the Dumonde that Brian is sending me. Im gonna run all of it in the 372xp after porting is done and then check her outI'll probably burn 20 or 30 gallons a year, maybe more and I've never had a single problem from oil,I've ran klotz for most of the 20 years I've been in the woods. Run lots of gas through saws that I port also.
I reserve "Pro" status for Randy. Mike is also very knowledgeable. We're just playing around compared to most of these guys. I doubt seriously you use one liter of oil a year. That would compute to over 40 chainsaw tanks of fuel if mixing 32.1.Lol! I work on saws/port, and cut far more wood than u know about ole buddy. Assumptions again ole buddy. I burn up quite a bit testing saws that I work on not to mention several tanks on blowers, polesaws, trimmers, etc. I usually run a few tanks through all in my own yard before I have the customer pick it up. Make no mistake im no where with thoso guys u mentioned but I will listen when they tell me something. Doesnt always mean I agree but if I go out on a limb to prove them wrong I usually eat crowI reserve "Pro" status for Randy. Mike is also very knowledgeable. 3.2oz is 40:1Ok oil guru's ratio question I have echo power blend x. I bought the jug for a 5 gallon mix but I only mix 2 gallons at a time. Jug says 2.6oz oil per gallon to make 50.1 mix. I like 40.1 at the minimum on anything I own. How many Oz of oil should I use to make it the desired 40.1 mix?
Ok good cause I been running close 6.5oz to 2 gallons. Thanks guys3.2oz is 40:1
