Without the time to read all of this thread, any of you knuckleheads formed any opinion on Amsoil Saber? You know the stuff says it can be run at 100:1.
I have some and I'm dubious if I should use it at 100:1, 50:1, 40:1, 32:1, or not at all.
Good oil IMO, I ran it for years at 40:1

I’ve ran it in farm & ranch saws at 80 to 1 for years now that I have more expensive saws I’m running it currently at 32 to 1. Seems to work good whatever ratio you use as long as you tune it.

What do the pistons and cylinders look like on the Farm saws Matt? Still like new? Or some wear?

Unless it's one of my smaller saws or something really random I don't sharpen in the field either. I mainly run 20" bars on the big shihl and 372. I have easily over 20+ twenty inch loops. I just bring extras with me to swap.

I just edited my post because I could hardly understand what I wrote there were so many misspellings in it LOL. Yeah when the wood is clean I might take a break and touch a chain up. These get a little too far gone for a touch up.

I tell you what for the dirty conditions that I’m working in this is the first time I’ve used semi chisel in a while and for what it is it definitely Cuts longer better. it may not be the sharpest but it keeps cutting at a decent rate then all of a sudden it goes to hell. Where The full chisel cuts like a son of a gun and then 10 cuts later you’re depressed because the wood is dirty.

I refuse to production fell with semi, it won’t bore cut worth a *s-word. But it’s alright for dirty firewood setup with a good gullet/rakers.

We ran RS for felling. After skidder dragged em to hell and back we ran RM for buckn to length.
RM is the only semi I like.
I keep a loop of dat on 1 of my 288's and a 272.
