Ive seen first hand myself what extra oil within reason and turned properly does for the life of any 2 cycle engine. One of my customers has a metric ton of 2 cycle stuff atleast 20 1000 watt 2 cycle gennies 10 post hole diggers probably 50 weedwoppers/stick edgers 50 leaf blowers handheld and backpack frobably 75 chainsaws from 200t on up to 660s and 395s. This guy was bringing me 10 pieces a week for the last few years. He had been buying the wallmart cheap tcw2 by the gallon and running it 50:1 up to 100:1 when guys didnt pay attention fo them mixing 2 gallons and not 1 gallon. Now i have him buying redmax oil by the 5 gallon bucket and its actually cheaper so he is running 4oz to the gallon now. I no longer get 10 units a week with woreout topends and bearing failures. Im lucky if i get 5 units a month and maybe 1 of them had a scuffed piston or bad bearings. Not good for my side business but he cant believe that adding 1.4oz more oil per gallon of gas made that much difference to the life of his stuff. Im sure if he stuck with the wally world oil he wouldve seen similar results but figured he is getting better oil and its better suited to his application (air cooled oil for air cooled stuff) and its cheaper per oz. So now redmax oil is going up $34 per 5 gallons of oil where he buys it so i got him to buy 5 gallon jugs of citgo air cooled oil to poor into his 5 gallon bucket and use the same bucket pump amm of his guys are now used to using. Ive found that is so close and repeatable that it pumps 4 oz per pump. It makes it really nice for guys to mix. 1 full pump is enough for 1 gallon of gas. Id also love for him to run rec gas but as its .30-.80 cents higher per gallon i highly doubt ge will ever consider it as a viable option.
