What oil is best? and what ratio?

This one has quite a bit of time on it..but still does its job for the most part with those little holes.

Hasn't done it on the other ones yet, that's a few months of daily use.

And even with those holes..it still keeps the filter 10x cleaner.

Is there a spot you can see on the inside of cover where it’s contacting that you can see?

It was down around the choke lever somewhere.

Mine wore a hole after a few days. I found where it was touching the inside of the cover. I went and sanded it down. I haven't checked lately. Next time I get the 261 out I will check. If I can remember. ☺

HP2 being discounted isnt a huge surprise. Honda hasnt sold a 2 stroke bike since 2007 and hadnt designed a new two cycle motor since the early 90's.
The good news is Yamaha is still building two strokes so 2R will be available for a long time.

Just curious, where did you hear Honda is discontinuing HP2? I always found it a bit odd Honda was still selling a 2T oil for the reasons mentioned above.

Very dark blue. 10% dolmar blue and 90% Amsoil interceptor (which has no dye) is still plenty blue enough to tell

Well it just goes to show ya that companies will slap their name on any ol bottle of oil.

Best mix I found to date for all my work saws.
Run it at 40:1 in everything, AutoTunes and MTronics included. Keeps the P/C really clean.

I used a bunch of that stuff years ago until I discovered it was terrible from a corrosion standpoint. Do a little digging on it and you will see.
