What oil is best? and what ratio?

I use some of the black rot dye when I'm running the sperm whale oil in hot saws

Did it run okay? I just looked at the rit dye. 15 to 40% NaCl (salt) up to 60% water.

Isn't that water based?

When you run sperm whale oil you gotta add a lil water so it cools the engine. If not lard builds up atop the piston. You gotta pull the flap too keep the carb warm

Whale oil full o salt anyhow he lives in the sea. So it's no bother

I just poured some gas in a mason jar and added a few drops of food coloring in it and all it did was just clump together at the bottom and would not mix it all.

I agree. But I had some mx2t given to me, and one day I needed oil. Rather than drive home, I went to the store and all they had was amsoil interceptor. Neither of them have dye, but both are good oils. Feels a bit creepy dumping yellow gas into a saw

Ok I found the solution at my local JD dealer. Part # MT3668. $5.07 + tax and it will dye 5 gallons of base oil. Edited to add it only comes in red color.
