That is why i just pull them out after a day of work to see how they look ,if getting a clean or sooty general burn .I am going to try to lean out the saber some more ,but i am at 15300 right now on a 440 hybrid ,try 500 more rpm see if cleans it up .The finger ports seem to make the insides wetter than my other saws .
I agree, a plug chop on a saw is pretty much a average overall on how the saw is running. I agree this is the best method on running a easy accurate chop. Overall richness or leaness will show up when ran all day. Problems that leave questions is when you open it up, is the initial surge of gas that may cause a plug discoloration but burns off hopefully after WOT. Nobody runs WOT all day without letting off haha. Shoot for chocolate brown, but always remember a tad rich won't kill you or the saw. Good thread here.

The above is what a plug chop looks like.

Yes 51 page oil thread! Lots of master-debaters in here. I wonder if porn stars ever sit around after a hard days work and master-debate about which lube is best.:Saeufer:
Boy, that was useful and informative, not..

It really goes beyond just looking at the SG. You need to look at both the end point and the 10% boiling point.
Many guys have a problem understanding this because they can't wrap their mind around the fact that in a properly running two cycle the fuel should nearly all flash to vapor within the crankcase.

I know exactly what you mean, I didn't then, but its clear to me

i use 87 have for years i see no need to switch.
Well, all I can say is you must have never had to clean water/ algae or corroson out of a fuel system, because I know of no e-free that is 87-octane. My son borrowed mower about 2-yrs ago, and mower wouldn't work, "but I just bought that gas dad", and I said "but it still has water in it.." and showed it to him from (his) gal-can, and then, how to remove it....and told him where to buy pure-gas.

You guys should start an octane thread, or some such, IMO! This is one of those beastly long threads that has morphed into some pretty awesome back and forth for the jv team such as myself to enjoy/learn from. But sheesh, you see a thread with this moniker, and then see 45 pages, zoiks!

I can honestly say I have no opinion on this matter. I don't have specific knowledge or experience to develop one.

I will say this doesn't seem to be the cooperative collective learning thread I described it as the other day. The fun part of this thread is gone today.

'Round here, we've got the option of either 87 e-free, or 93 e-free.

Far as what oil is best, and at what ratio . . . well, it's whatever I run, of course. :p
