I run ledgend zx2 sr oil at 32 :1 . Im sure it would be fine at 40:1 but its well priced and smells good so i dont mind the extra oil. It realy is good stuff and leaves the engine super clean inside. Iv used it in snowmobiles and boatmotors and it actualy does cause them to idle a bit higher. Never had any issues due to lubrication using it.
Legend performance is a few miles from me. Good oil

Just gotta be mindful that some newbies come to the site and maybe try some of the suggestions mentioned here and blow their saws up. In all fairness, we need to get a little more serious on our suggestions. I know its nice to have a little fun, but I would hate to see or hear of a member or person get hurt trying some of our funny suggestions.
OK. Rant out. Lol
Just food for thought.

I kind of second guess myself more due to this thread lol.

I feel like if I mix Mobil 1 or some other bike oil at 32:1 I may blow up my saws.

I am having a real bad day and sorry if I come off harsh I don't mean to be but I noticed myself pondering and worring if any of the oils I run will lubricate the engine well.

Some do leave more residual no doubt but if a saw blew up running K2 at 32:1 I'm sure Maxima would not make it anymore. Or recommend it.

Sorry for the rant guys

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

A lot of guys unknowingly blame a supposed "junk" oil on their blown up saw. It's way more important to have the same ratio each time you refill (or any acceptable oil ratio and a tuning screwdriver). Adding more of said "junk" oil to their mix to be on the safe side creates a mix with a higher viscosity, allowing less mix through your jets. Richening the fuel/oil ratio effectively leans out the air/mix ratio. Gotta tune each time you change oil, ratio, and temperature

I cut infrequently so I prefer a AT or MT saw. At least I don't have to monk with the tune, I just go cut.

Joe what's your impression 550XP vs 261CM? I think I read that your 261 is headed to Cottle lane, are the Huskys ported too?

To tune a saw, it takes less than 15 seconds and about an 1/8th of a turn with a screwdriver.

I'm sure once you know what go listen for in a particular saw it does get easier....the tuning is not my issue lol

It is that second guessing....

Nah. No second guessing. Piece of cake. Be confident.

The 550 is a little more agile and slightly better balanced, all around a better limbing saw. For firewood with more grunt required the 261 has more torque for those longer cuts. If needing a 3/8" chain upgrade this would be the saw, but I'm sticking to .325. I'm anxious to get back the 261 from Randy. I then may not use the 562 much. The 550 and 562 are stock with only a heavy muff mod. Randy did those muffs too. Pretty talented dude!
Send that 562 to Alan Wolthuis, I highly recommend it. You Will Not regret it.
