I have experimented with a few synthetic oils(bike oils) over the years and yeah sure they do a great job.. BUT I had a WTF moment the saw had been sitting say over 6 months (last run on top dollar synthetic oil) I pulled it down to do more work and yeah it was dry as in nothing! no residual oil nothing! and things looked rusty if it had of had a steel liner it would have been game over!...
Mineral oil will still be in who knows how many years coating parts and a pooling in the bottom of the crank case kind of like oil is meant to I guess? ( I have seen this in saws that have been sitting as many of you guys would have too oil coating parts and a pooling in saws that have not run in many years, yup that's good old crappy mineral oil for ya haha)...
No matter really none of my saws can find the limit of mineral oil anyway so is a win win for me running it mineral oil and the money saved for me I can spend it on barbecue ribs and stuff  .....

Seeing your posts wants me go try and use a mineral oil in my ported saws.

Ben any thought on this? Should I go back to 2R or Super M?

Also I do remember Mobil1 not storing well.

So for storage I could mix up some 2R and run a tank of fuel of it and fog away?

You mean that wildthing didn't do its self in on its own
son of a *b-word still lives today .... Has a broken fuel line may need a carb kit but ran several years ago piston is pristine I actually used the *f-word outta that thing cut wood by the 6 wheeler load with it as a kid If it had started well and had anti vibe I never woulda bought a new one. Pops ended up buying me a 55 rancher so it sat there and rotted it's fuel lines

wish I knew how to post pic's . got a colt anaconda 8 3/8 barrel.
she had some HOT loads thru her. love the smell of H110 in the morning!

Also have an anaconda and yes my fil loved to load hot loads with H110 behind 240 gr hornady xtps. Everybody always thought I was nuts for shooting such hot loads. Shot several deer with this load. They dropped like they got hit with by a Mack truck.
