I'm sure there are other differences, but the fd oils are better at preventing that stuff. But for lubrication, it looks like it's working just fine. Until a ring decides to grab that carbon and smears things up
Oh ya. Id be tearin mine down!! Lol! That buildup in the exhaust has to affect performance! The port is smaller! Chokepoint

What stupid stuff am I doing repetitively? I like to think that by putting countless hours on a saw on one oil and not having any issues speaks for itself.

As far as knowledge goes you can study the different oils based on ingredients all you want. What works is most important. Write down the pros and con's of each oil, find the best on paper... Fine with me. I will be burning saw gas making money and not have any oil related failure.

When your done writing down your figurings shove that paper up your ass.... That's what you talk from anyway. Experience... Make a mental note of how that word is spelled.

Your making the assumption I have no real world expiereance. It's likely I was running two strokes when you were still craping your pants.
GFY.

The saw is about 24 years old. Its been ran much harder than it ever should have. 25 cord a year since I bought it.
All I could afford at the time I made the purchase. Has never let me down. Runs perfect. Just minor routine maintenance and a muffler mod. Can't argue with that.

@bwalker @so il logger , et al.......good natured ribbing is fine, but the name calling has gotten out of hand.

Please keep it a little more civil.

I will unlock this thread now, but if [you] can't, or won't modify your behavior, this thread will go the way of the Do-Do bird.

Thanks in advance, for your understanding, and cooperation.

That's a lot of wood in my book. What oil ratio are you using?

Just the 50:1 orange bottle Stihl. Regular pump gas E10 crap. I really never even gave it a big thought...Until I joined over there, and then here. Lol
Now there are lots of options. Almost too much. Lol
I just try to stick with what works.

Since I'm getting a 440/460 hybrid, I think it's going to need a hybrid oil? Maybe 40% red armor with 60% motul 710?
