What oil is best? and what ratio?

I see Stihl oil that carbons equipment up daily. The oil performs good if the equipment is ran WOT and tuned properly. Ive seen this too often in trimmers that people dont run wot using Stihl oil. Blowers and trimmers with small spark arrestor screen is horrible to almost completely plug running Stihl Ultra in combination with low rpm

Being an fb rated oil, it probably lacks the detergents that fc and fd oils have

Maybe he used the wrong ratio. Doesn't look like it was just oil that did that.

Not sure but like I said I see this with Stihl oil often. Other variables like fuel, ratio, tune, operating rpm comes into play also

It was a husky saw, but running on stihl ultra.

Did you guys not already know that you cant run stihl oil in a husky saw and vice versa...same for bar oil.

Im gettin tired of teaching you guys everything in this oil thread.

Yes. Full ester that doesn't combust well in a saw.

I like Husqvarna and echo oils myself mixed at 32:1 they run nice on those oils.

I remember an oil thread maybe two years ago when members were asked what oil they ran in their saws. My guess would be over 90% of a long list of members were running either Motul 800 or HR1 Belray with a smaller portion running Ultra. They all had a big list of reasons why it was important to use such oil and solidly believes they were 'in the know' about what they were doing. Today its a complete back flip but a good back flip for the better.

Stihl actually had a FD rated oil and when they came out with the new Ultra silver bottle the rating went to FB??!!

I look for oil in 8oz bottles now.

1 in my 2 1/2 gallon can

2 in my 5 gallon can

No more ratio rite.

I've been using Yamalube 2R at 40:1. Smells a little like burnt plastic. I doubt it has and stabilizer in it so I should probably drain the saws that I don't use very often.

I use old crankcase drainings from my diesel truck. Mix at 16-1.
Works awsome. keeps the bugs away. Smells great. Plugs the
muffler every half cord i cut. So i tossed the muffler, Who needs
that. And i get the oil for free.

How you liking the Saber Ryan ? The 8 oz bottles are a good thing ,i have not used ratio rite in a couple years now ,i have to dump the husky hp oil into amsoil bottles to measure though ,they are set up for 50 to 1 i think in their bottles .
