I work on saws, weedeaters, trimmers daily and just this past week I changed 2 arrestor elements that was completely clogged . 1 unit was a stihl 38 trimmer and the other a stihl 55 blower both ran on stihl ultra. When I see alota buildup in the screen or exhaust I like to ask the customer. Another customer this past week brought a husky p5 pole saw with the exhaust system was partially plugged and it was ran on ultra also
I'd probably pull the elements on my own stuff. The new epa crap anything will plug it. Work stuff that stock I have to pull elements and clean occasionally

I chunk them!! Lol!! The ultra seems to run well and protect well even being only fb rated but seems alil dirty but would probably be just fine for the life of the equipment?

I've never seized or blown up a saw with it, and my cylinders are spotless.
I hadnt been in a piece of equipment yet thatbused stihl ultra that didnt have carbon buildup on top of the piston . Buildup is normal to me though if tuned properly?

I'm not sure if your asking or telling me with the question marks? I don't run epa saws either. And maybe the buildup is to rich of a mix or ethanol fuel? And I'm using hp ultra, not the Orange bottle or white. Silver hp ultra. I also run only two stroke. I won't own or run 4 mix, so maybe valves out of adjustment?

Asking your opinion and stating on what ive seen in my shop. Most of the equipment ive seen is epa confined with limiters and tunablity. I havent seen that being rich or lean matters though with ultra and still builds carbon on top of piston which I still think is normal to a point

I will see if any difference 40 to 1 and 32 to 1 with the ash
I have a camera scope that can go down the plug hole or decomp hole to view piston top for the buildup
Man that scope would be nice. With the airfilter off can the scope be snaked through the carb throat with the piston at TDC to see the bottomend and underneath side of piston?

I don't tear my stuff down very often to look. You can look through the intake on a stihl and see the rod when the piston is at TDC. The HP2 left a good bit on the skirts. Not as much as Super Techniplate. The lower flash point of it is probably why I'm getting such deposits quickly. If the weather is nice I'll finish off that gallon in the next 3 days and have another gallon mixed with 87 to run.

Looking foward to finds. Think ill run 800t with 87efree in the 460 tuned to about 14500 for several tanks before I tear it back down for a porting change and ill photo and upload it here. Im running r2 in the 241 and will photo that. Kl200 is ordered and will get ran in the 064 and 390 but thoso may not be torn down for several months before I photo thoso but ill take a peak through the intake

How about the Klotz Techniplate KL200 Mike?
Its not bean oil so it was pretty clean like the others. The 372 you guys have was run on it the whole time I had it if I remember right and Elim ran super in it I think.
