In Australia we just punch each other and then got for a beer....... loser shouts.
Don't get me picked for an anti gun nut cause I have been shootin guns since I was 10 and love them, have protested against government restrictions etc, but the thought of needing a 12g behind my seat or my wife needing a concealed 9mm in her hand bag for protection really is scary.
I am in no way questioning gun ownership so dont shoot me down (someone ring the pun bell) but what worries me is that society over there has got to a state where good people feel the need to carry them. That is the worry.
To me they are a hobby. I love em but I dont ever feel the need to carry one with me to the supermarket to buy groceries.

Are things really that bad or is the protection line just a cover for them being really cool?

Deets, I would LOVE to have a go of that Derringer!
Gorgeous!

i live in one of the most armed counties in the US , i dont carry a gun because i just dont feel the need...some of the places i go your askin for trouble with a gun on you , people will either think your a pussy , you want a problem or have some intentions to use it and it doesnt end well occasionally....depends on where you live i suppose...i carry brass knuckles.

Isn't that the point of a concealed carry so that nobody knows you have it?

I don't always carry unless I'm going to some shady parts of town which is rare, we don't even work in the hood anymore after guys getting robbed and stuff stolen off trucks.

I've been running sabre and the smell is ok, but I'm up for something better.

Benol is some dirty nasty chit.
You want a nice smelling oil, MOTUL 800 2T.

You going to the GTG?

I have a case of Sten's full synthetic, so have no need to buy any oil for a good bit. That said, just ordered a couple quarts of KL200. I blame you guys!

I can't decide between 19 or 23. I never cared for the grips before.

You could get a 23 (40 cal) and also a 9mm conversion barrel + a few 9mm mags. Just swap barrel and mags and your shooting one or the other.

You can even go a step further and get a G32 barrel (.357sig) - those will work out of your G23 40 cal mags.

From there it's just a decision between gen 3 and gen4

gen 3 - I like the talon grip tape on the gen3 frame/grip.
gen4 - grip is pretty good from factory and you can adjust the size of the grip. I think the magazine release is better design on the gen4. I think the dual recoil spring is a better spring as well vs the gen3.

------------------------------------------

The main difference between the G23 and G19 is how wide the breach is cut on the slide. The barrel hood of the .40 is a little wider. So to do the conversion barrel they make a 9mm barrel with a wider hood.

Other differences would be the extractor and ejector.

I've been shooting my conversion barrel for years with out a single problem.

Here is a vid I did years ago - Glock 23 (gen3) with 9mm conversion barrel threaded shooting suppressed.

That's the cool thing about Glock. So many options and you can switch barrels. I really like the FN pistols but not near the choices in holsters and stuff.

Main reason I've stuck with 9mm is cost of ammo. The only other caliber we have is 45. 10mm and 357 Sig are higher than the others.

I have a *s-wordty old 9mm , one of the reasons i dont carry it around is im afraid id have a momentary lapse of judgement and let a moment get the best of me.

But i like guns...sorta.
