I knew it was there....told him I don't saw nails for free, and I ran blades that were about to break, so no problem really.
Actually I only sawed through about a dozen nails in the two logs. lol.

Caught a square headed lag bolt buried in an ash log with my chainsaw mill once directly on the head. Saw tore it out of the log most of the way and required a 8-10” chunk of that .404 pitch chain to me replaced.

I managed to do that with my mill a couple years ago. When you hit them like that with a radial mill like mine, there is quite a shower of sparks. Thankfully the teeth on my blade were already on their last leg.

This was in a Maple tree close to our garage. I'm CERTAIN it got popped in there with a nail gun when they were framing our new house, 16 penny of course. If I would have seen it happen there would have been a party size can of whoop-azz opened right there on the spot... I had to take it down cuz it was dying about 6 years later...

We lost another HUGE Sugar Maple in the driveway circle that shaded the whole house most of the day. Once that one died the AC had to be run all summer. That first summer while it was there we hardly ran the AC at all.

Couple logs worth of pine on the bottom, then cedar, next spaulted sycamore, then more cedar. It's a bit over 7' tall now, got another 3' up to the trusses.

I did buy a sharpener this year. Shipping costs were killing me on resharps, so, I bought a cheap sharpener. It’s definitely paid for itself already!

I bought the woodland mills RS 30 and their setter. I’m not super happy with the setter, but, the sharpener is doing the job. I’ve been getting about 6-8 sharpenings before breakage. I’ve been trying to set every 3rd sharpening so far, seems to be working ok for me.

I have the same setup, I kinda hate the setter also.
Grinder is pretty fine.
Most of my blades brake after one sharpening, but that's because I ran em way too long trying to get all I could before I had the sharpening equipment.
