Ok if your German no offense but why do y'all design things to be so complicated.
(My most favorite person in existence is German. That man saved my life and I plan on naming my first son after him,if I ever have a kid) i know im still extremely new to 2 stroke out door equipment but #1 the front handle assembly to a a ms271 is somewhat annoying when needing to remove #2 the copious amount of bolts on the fs56c that clamp the plastic around the engine and shaft my Husqvarna 4 screws on 2 sides the engine comes out, 56c 12 on shell 3 on starter. #3 accessing the the carburetor on a 660 and currently # ms250..... The tank vent!!!! Why?? Just why? That makes absolutely no sense to me. What benefit does that design provide the tank vent with?-

If you are going to be repairing this stuff, asking "why" every time you tear something apart, you will drive yourself nuts.
I've been retired for over 10 years and consider these 3d puzzles. Just trying to keep the thinker from going away.

The challenge with Stihl is not ending up with leftover screws. If you do you get the experience of taking it apart again to see where it goes...

I have to to disagree with you. I’m a Husky guy and I also work on a lot of chainsaws. Husky is better in some ways, like taking off wrap bars, but have you ever done heavy maintenance on Autotunes? Mtronics are far easier to work on.

I have been a die-hard Stihl person for years, I managed a Sihl dealership for 16 years. That being said, with all the stupid stuff that Stihl started doing to their chainsaws and weedeaters I finally got fed up and switched to Echo. The quality is every bit as good and much easier to work on when needed. The thing that got me the most was when they started with the 2 piece fuel lines on chainsaws and all the crap you had to take apart just to do a fuel line. I had a 441 in my shop, took close to an hour to replace the line, I thought maybe I was missing something that would make it quicker, so I called a friend at another shop, and he said they get a minimum of 45 min. to an hour to do a fuel line on some of the newer saws. Years ago I could do a fuel line replacement in about 15 minutes and the cost for parts and labor was around 30-35.00, now it is more like 100.00 for the same thing. Sorry this turned out so long, LOL.

And even though most of it is made in China, Stihl is hopefully still German engineered - not that I care anyways.

That gave me a chuckle and reminded me of an funny experience a couple years back. The company had just hired a welding department supervisor a couple days before. Of course he was clueless about welding......perfect for management. It was nearing the end of the day and the welders were done. They were standing in front of the fan talking. I had my EOS paperwork done and was sweeping the floor. The new supervisor, Danny, walks up to me and says "So what do you do here, just sweep the floor ?" I smile a bit and say "no I polish the poles too" and kept sweeping. One of the welders says "no Danny, Bill is our weld inspector". The supervisor, puzzled says to me " then why are you sweeping the floor ?". I answer " well because it does not sweep itself". He walks off.
