What current 60cc class saw is best?

What current 60cc class saw is the one to get? I have not paid any attention to saws for several years and not sure what is even out now. Would be interested in light weight and reliability/durability.

Kinda depends on how much you want to spend and if you want heated handles. Bang for buck, it's gonna be hard to beat the echo 590. Heated handles pretty much forces a guy into a 562, and compared to a 362 or 400, they're reasonably priced. Hottest one out there is probably the 400, but they're spendy and no option for heat in the US.

Have bucked through maybe 15 or 20 cords now with my MS400 (bought last summer) and like it better each time I use it.

The 400 is the hot rod now. Once I heard about the 400.1 coming out, I crossed it out as a choice.

I’d go with a ported 261, they are impressive for the size compared to a 361.

I guess it depends if you are focused on lightweight performance or longevity. To some extent, those are mutually exclusive characteristics.

95% of the people on this site have not and never will wear out a chainsaw.
The news saws will last just as long as the old designs that Echo sells.

I agree they’re not the best. But being about half price is a pretty big factor. And they’re simple and reliable and easy to work on. All depends what someone wants. What someone needs is a different story…people don’t need 500i’s for fallen branches in the yard. But if it’s in the budget why not lol Honestly for firewood use most people could get by with a 261 or 550xp. I know a local guy who still gets by with a corded chainsaw lol.

Technically got me there. Money no object 400c…ported. But it’s also pretty much 67cc…almost cheating.

Husqvarna has the 555, 565 and 365 X-torque saws, not just the 562xp.
If you're throwing 590's about, then there's the MS 311, MS 391 and 460 Rancher to throw in for discussion.
My pick for a firewood saw would most likely go to the 555, 562XPG, MS 362 or MS 362 C-M
