I'm not really seeing that, unfortunately. It would be nice to have a site that focused just on those things but what I've been seeing on here reminds me a lot of a different site which I essentially quit going on because it was so full of "non" saw related topics, pics, memes and just a bunch of crap I don't need to fill my mind with. I haven't given up on this forum but it hasn't turned out to be what I was anticipating.

The reason we have the off topic area is to help the chainsaw and other topic specific areas stay on point better. With the saw giveaway going on....we can't expect that to be the case right now though. Also, this is a new site, and some people are gonna push against the boundaries to see where the line is.

The only reason I agreed to be the moderator is that I know most of you guys personally. Many of us have been friends for years. Since I know what to expect from this "crew" I like to think I can head off any detours that might end badly. Don't hesitate to contact me if you see anything that needs attention. I don't like the idea of deleting posts, or even altering them. I really would not like the task of banning anyone. In my mind, that's the worse thing a site can do. Hell, even giving out warning points goes against my ideals. I'm just another member that wants a great site......

If someone crosses the line (and remember, the rules are set by the site owner), I'll just send them a PM. Hopefully we can come to an agreement about how we need to behave on the site.

Here's what's really cool. I see a bunch of guys that really know how to modify saws here. They are sharing ideas, posting videos, build threads, giving out tips, etc. There have been zero problems. No arguments at all from any of the saw guys.

Now over in off topic, I have seen some memes that are outside the rules. :(

I think the site is off to a great start. Everyone is in good spirits and is expressing it by letting loose and having a good time. It's a wonderful feeling to be in the company of so many of my friends.

What do y'all think of the new forum?

It sure is good to see so many familiar faces here.
I think it looks good Randy.
I just want to be on a forum where there is peace and harmony, where we build and share experience, simple as that.

great, other than our unfortunate death of one of our champion Chinchillas that I mentioned in our group Pm.

I've been dealing with him for a pretty good while, and I think a lot of him.
So I already started paying for this site by being an avid customer of HL? Cool!

HL has always been good to me and my GTG's and yea... Just a great place to get parts. I have even mentioned a few thing about parts before that always get corrected right away. Their phone friendly web page needs an easier sign in option. Maybe Randy can run that one up the flag pole for us...
