I don’t really think that this paint is an exact match. I’m really considering painting both case halves together, I don’t really care how much time it takes, I want this saw to make its owner smile, and either the Valspar or this suggested paint aint an exact match

Time to make sure that the crank is centered


Use a new razor to trim the excess
Install the case half bolts
Organize everything so we know what we’re up against
Loctite the vibration buffers

Go to the 394/5 tub of gold

Pick from the box of good stuff
And start getting this animal together. I’ll need the tank buffers There they are !!

I’ve finally found a use for this screwdriver beside using it for tightening the set screw
Then back to its magnetic home
Both front tank buffers in their places
Tank time !!!! I friggin love a new tank !!

Now it’s time for me to install the limiters, and there’s absolutely no denying that Loctite is a necessity here

Lube them crank seals with some 2 cycle oil
And drive them down where they belong

I don’t have the “O” ring seal for the pump discharge ......... ordering it tonight, and moving forward
Chain guard getting installed. A quick note here, most of these holes are stripped from years of gorilla wristed guys, Miller welding equipment makes the original screw work great !!!

This is how I like setting up the 394/5 tank limiters. Makes for a very user friendly saw, IMHO.

Just need that blasted Oring for the oil pump, then we can get moving !!!

I think the orange paint looks good. Orange is a difficult color to use and match. I’ve painted many Simplicity tractors and I have had the same problem.

This build is smoking hot and very well put together...Awesome Job Kevin!!!! I know how much effort you’re putting into this thread, hats off to ya brother.

Watching a pro assemble a 394 I now know mine is missing the rear tank limiters and the front clutch side buffer. Was wondering what them holes were fer on the bottom of the case...lol! Putting in an order now.

I think the orange paint looks good. Orange is a difficult color to use and match. I’ve painted many Simplicity tractors and I have had the same problem.

It doesn’t help that even brand new saws seem to have slightly different shades of orange between models. Must be momma husky can’t find a match for their paint either I think Kevin’s saw looks great too.
