It does look good. You should see my driller 357. I might need all of my fingers to count the different shades of orange and it came that way from the factory.
Same with my 357... lol! Something about that chassis I guess. And when I bought it, it was in damn near NIB condition, very well cared for

The translucent gas tank does not help any. I guess it gives it character. Joe’s saw will be much prettier than this one View attachment 166296View attachment 166297
Looks very similar to mine. Almost seems as if they found a cache of 2 series plastic pellets to make the covers with lol

Very nice early 357 you’ve got there. I like the old style decal.

I put those limiters in my 94 when I bought in a box totally disassembled. I had them laying with all the other parts and figured that was the only place they could have went. Learned later they were probably from a different model saw. They stayed.

Bet they make a difference, my saw is pretty mushy without them. They’re on the way.

Maybe it was just the old editions? My '10 isn't so bad, not perfect but I've flipped an older one and it was just like yours.

Mine is an 06’ I believe, kind of in between yours and the older colors. Evolution I guess lol

The limiter screw (if used in that spot) shouldnt be squishing out like pictured, unless you have fuel in the tank and she is laying on her side when you took that picture

Sorry for the mini 357 derail Kevin, back to our regularly scheduled 394!:)
Apologies not needed, this is OPE, a derail is allways expected and welcome. Never know what one is going to learn as the derail takes its course !

My neighbor is part of the reason Carroll county passed the “you can’t shoot tannerite after midnight” law
:eek::confused:
They cant make a tall enough fence for that kind of neighbor ..................

I wish more saws had good strong av limiters like a 372/390/395. The bar/chain will bend before the saw breaks a mount. Not that I recommend yankin’ on yer saw like a pry bar, we’re all guilty of it some time or another though lol.

An interesting tidbit about the bushing that I use for limiter cushions. It’s actually from the 394/5, and it belongs here .......BF1CB3D2-417F-43F9-81DD-03B39005174D.jpeg9AFBFA95-5EE8-40F6-8898-C840376D1CC7.jpeg F7A25ACB-1AC0-4DA0-B8E3-3C990CC67DE5.jpeg 0052FEE0-20ED-4DF2-9390-BB4744990779.jpeg

It’s the bushing for the chain cover nipple to reside in when you install the cover and bolt it down

Did anyone else see @drf256 new avatar ? I’m still crying from laughing so hard
