I had a space in the shop end of the museum where I wanted a small reference desk. I have a cabinet up on the wall with an LED light underneath and keep frequently used documents in the cabinet.

Now I have a desk to set them on.

I am in the process of moving my parts over from the house, starting with (mostly) NOS items. McCulloch changed their numbering scheme a few times so I am doing my best to identify the parts and note the different part numbers, as well as trying to organize them as I put them away so I can find them a bit more easily. I started with the oldest parts (17000 part numbers) and am now working in the 217000 region. I keep finding bins and boxes with stuff...this is going to take a while.

I am now working on page 35 of the Excel spread sheet...the three blue bins are more 17000-19000 that I uncovered when I took some other stuff from the attic. The large black and yellow totes stacked up are mostly old parts but they also need to be sorted and filed away.

We have run into a bit of issue with the drain/sewer. The plumbers ran a camera up the main line in the alley and found a few problems.

They can't come back until next week to dig up the alley and see exactly what all the issues are down there.

I guess I will be spending a little more time in the home shop for the next few days.

It all depends on exactly where the problem is. At this point they cannot determine where the real problem is since they cannot get the camera in the right position from either side. There are problems in the cities main line as well with joints that don't line up, I don't know when or how they are going to address those.

Can't like that.
I spent the last days of 2020 repairing my root damaged septic system after a Christmas day "flood".

Interesting chain on this one, bumpers on the drive links also serve as the only depth gauges on the chain. I thought I read in some of the documents that they did not require any grinding or filing as the chain wears.

Drains were not working, turns out the line they connected to was just an old piece of orangeberg that didn't go anywhere...

I’m surprised that they would hook up to that orangeberg with a new line. It was the bane of my existence when I worked at the plumbing shop. It always seemed to collapse in from the bottom side.

I’m sure glad you got things squared away.

According to the plumbers, they located the Orangeburg and made a visual and tactile inspection, and got the O.K. from the city to make the connection. Apparently no one thought to check to see that the line was actually connected to the main.

I have been busy with a lot of things but have managed to get a few more saws cleaned up and moved over. You have to be a real McNut to appreciate the Silver Eagle or Montgomery Wards versions of the PM310 saws.

This Homelite John Deere just goes to show you what happens when a manufacturer and reseller no longer care...

I was tired of having this McCulloch 300 always underfoot so I gave it a good cleaning, painted the AF cover and moved it over.

I also concluded I wasn't going to run the Super 797 in wood any more so it got a good cleaning in preparation for the move as well.
