I'm trying to help you save yourself a bunch of time on the next one, so take this as constructive criticism.

1. Cut your stock closer to finished length, all that overhang is asking for trouble.
2. Unless your chuck is way out of whack why bother indicating? The runout tolerances aren't that critical on a V-stack. If the ID is .004" from being concentric with the OD, who cares?
3. There's no need to face off both ends, your throat is getting rid of the area you just spent time facing of on one end.
4. Increase your depth of cut. It looks like your taking very small cuts, hog that thing out until you get close to your final dimension and then do a lighter finish pass. I'm just guessing from your swarf, you are taking less than .025" per pass?

Keep up the good work.
Tomas that's fine it don't bother me I would say you have done this many times so help away yes my cuts are less than 25 I am new at the stack building thing so help away and Thank you.

This thread is perfect Mike.

I've gotten just about all of the information that I need to have a go at making one myself, except one key piece of information ........
What size bar stock did you use ?
Thank you. I used 2 in stock. I was hoping you would chime in here. Keep us posted and I am sure it will turn out great.

Once you shorten up that overhang you'll be able to start really increasing your depth of cut. Your lathe isn't a production machine by any stretch, but with proper tool geometry .100" per pass shouldn't be a problem.
Tomas I Thank you for the link a good read. And the next one I build I will shorten up my stock. Thank you for the help I appreciate your advice.

Just throwin this out. How would hardened plastic work for a v-stack? There shouldnt be any heat by the carb to soften it. Its cheaper and easier to work. My friend has flat pieces of 1-3/4" hardend plastic and a lathe. It would be cheaper but not as shiney as aluminum.

Cut or part your material close to finish length. Lay out your mounting bolt hole centres and drill and counter bore on the drill press . Next, bore straight through with your largest drill, then open to finish throat size with the boring bar. Finally, cut you 30° angled sides.

Doing it that way would give him an interrupted cut while boring the throat, correct?
