Exactly what I was looking to limit it to, for this thread. Otherwise It will randomly spiral out of control.

I'd like to do the entry angle in a separate thread.

No spiral out of control from here......carry on. Do you have your answer yet? I was only trying to help. And add to the discussion.

Al probably has no idea that you are one of the best saw builders out there.

I've sure learned a lot from you over the years

I'm this thread he is wondering about the angle of the port in relation to the squish band.

Then, he wants to talk about the angle of the roof as it flows through the port.

At least that's what I'm thinking....
Ok I was a bit confused. Tapered timing on them would be what I would use to describe them for relation to the squish band.

To me tapered angle to the squish band is a timing change. Like doing progressive transfers say with 2°slope. I haven't tried much slope in the quad ports but I do have one right now I did it to the intake side and sloped the roof of it like a husky. The dolmar is more flat on transfer roof than the husky.

Yes, no insult intended at all.

Wanted to keep it simple for me, not others.

If you have something to add, by all means, please do so.

I agree Deets.

I set mine at 118 from the start. Had i thought about it, like you, i would have started out lower just to feel the difference. I can tell you 1* of change on both the ex and trans with both at 16* of blowdown is noticable on a hybrid.
Ya I think with all that trapped compression and a 52mm piston pushing down on her shes huntin a way to get out??!!! :)

Exactly. Or angled towards exhaust, or a lip on a certain side or a certain point.

Past practice Ive used is before porting run water in center transfer and watch how flow exits and toward where and after porting repeat and try to duplicate?
