After seeing the pics posted of a 395 muffler split open, I am 100% confident the method I chose of adding the second port ahead of the factory port will get it breathing easier. The second port I made is as big or bigger than the original behind it only it doesn't force the exhaust out that funnel.

So just to clarify cuz I'm slow. You added a second port ahead of the first and left the origial port untouched?

The only thing that I don’t like about another deflector in front is that it’s right on top of the wood that you’re cutting, and the exhaust bounces back into your face

That is why I like the tubular exits the most, they direct the exhaust moar betterer
