Wedges are overrated, a skidding winch is niceDefinatley gonna need a few wedges for this one.
Yeah I plan on it. Lol. Those vines/ plants are all over the place down there. Im surprised I haven't got any rashes yet lolGet rid of the poison ivy vine 1st Austin. Lol
Tanks. Its lots of fun.Wedges are overrated, a skidding winch is nice.
Nice work on those.
Thanks I think I have roughly 2-3 mil bd ft total on the saw. Idk for sure I never kept track of stuff like that. I figure 2-3 years on a logging saw is 10 years for a firewooder. I swapped the shortblock about 150 hours ago when it got that tsumura bar on it (it’s a tsumura you just can’t see any of the paint anymore). Pto bearing wore out. Still original topend, piston, carb, ect.
If you are experiencing that kind of numbness after a few trees i would say you are very sensitive to vibrations.Did you ever run the 572 against a 462 felling? How's the vibration on it?
Not trying to start a saw fight but I have felled with the 462 before in hardwood and the vibration is a bit much. There are days where I would only do 2-3 trees, granted 28+ inches, and my knuckles and hands would be real numb at the end of the day.

Yes the 462c does vibe a tad more than the 572xp. But I think it’s more due to the smaller piston/longer stroke motor setup of the 572. It’s not a huge difference though. I’m thinking it might have been your chain was too aggressive?Did you ever run the 572 against a 462 felling? How's the vibration on it?

Square makes a world of difference though mikeI have 2 ported 462s and if you are getting that much vibration from them, something is wrong.

Cool I respect your opinion Mike.I'll bet if I strapped a pound and a half lead bar to it that it would feel smoother!
They feel very smooth to me, but I do run full comp square file.
