Diced up a little cherry I dropped by digging out under it in the gravel pit out back. It was a nice job for the 242xp.

Wow!!
The Husky 242xp!!
Doesn't that saw have a cult like following and is legendary in some parts?

Nice. The 242 spins some high RPMs.
Yep, but don't get crazy with the files or it won't hold them when you hit the wood.
That's one way to buck a tree.
Had to in order to get it out of the snag, or I could have ripped it out with the skidding winch root ball and all.
I cut a good number of silver maples from the bottom up, just tip tie them and rig them down in tight quarters, then drop the last stem.
Hard maple, but same principle.
This one I hooked the rope to the skidding winch to lower them, kind of an expensive porta-wrap, but you can set it up where there isn't a tree lol.

Little push with the power wedge, no banging those pesky manual wedges :b1:.

Not much of the tree, but since the back yard was fairly inaccessible I had to resort to the mini dozer to get the aerial lift in position.

Most of this birch was hanging over the house, the only survivor from last years Derecho but it had to come down.

It had sprouted a couple of low shoots so my son-in-law decided to keep it for now as memento.

I agree. I'm sick of sweating while standing in the shade.
that was a good day too. started off -10 F. in the morning warming to 45 by 10am. I think I put 7 tanks through the 462 that day falling and bucking.
Same.
Tomorrow they are saying a high of 74 here, that works as I have some climbing to do at the job above. That's no fun in 90 degree weather, so if I can avoid it I do, bad enough cutting on the ground in the 80s-90s .
Is winter here yet lol.

Be careful what you guys wish for...
Just sayin.
Snow...
I like winter but I can't stand the heat and when it's cold you can always add more clothes but when it's hot there is only so much you can take off!
:beer-toast1:
I'll take a nice fall day any time.

Don't like when it is real cold, too hard to keep the hands warm.

But the worst is cold rain!
You said "fall" lol.
Same, my power band is getting narrower and narrower, but I still like winter. It's not usually too cold here in michigan.
I think you need a heated handle 572 :D.
